Wistow Parish Council would like to applaud and congratulate the Trustees of the Jubilee Village Hall for putting so much effort into the re-instating of the Scarecrow Festival for our village.
Back into its more traditional style it brought many people out and about in our
village with 26 Scarecrows on show.
As the Chair of the Council I took part in the scarecrow quiz, met and chatted, with many people who were enjoying their weekend – in particular on the Saturday when the weather played its part and provided a perfect day.
Sunday wasn’t as enjoyable because the weather turned a bit more miserable.
It still did not deter the hardier folk and plenty were out completing the trail.
So a big well done to the Trustees; in particular the female contingent, for providing great refreshments at the Hall and providing an excellent weekend.
Let’s hope we can all assist them next year with more scarecrows
